Welcome to The Home Insulators of Rutherford
Poor home insulation is the reason why your energy bills are always so high. More than 50% of your energy expenses are going to air-conditioning or heating as a result of the spaces in your current home insulation. One way you can reduce your monthly energy bills is through improving your home’s insulation. Upgrading your insulation is one of the simplest and most affordable ways of reducing your energy costs. Call now to learn more about reducing your energy bills.
One way of knowing how effective a certain insulation material is, is by measuring its R-value. An R-value indicates an insulation material’s ability to resist heat loss or heat transfer. Heat moves to the colder areas of your home like in your basement or attic and is then lost outdoors. During the summer, the hot air outside moves into your much cooler air-conditioned rooms. Improving insulation in your home will create a tight barrier against the transfer of heat, thus ensuring your home is more comfortable and saving energy too.
Types of Insulation
We offer several different insulation products and can work within any customer’s budget. We know it can be kind of confusing to get through all the different options, so our team of professionals will work with you to choose the best product for your home as well as budget. Call us today to schedule your free in-home energy audit.
When you call, one of our auditors will visit your home to carry out a blower test. This easy task will help us know the areas in your home that are leaking the most air, thus contributing to energy loss. Based on the outcome of the test, our team may recommend one of the following types of insulation to improve energy efficiency in your home.
*Batts and rolls/blanket insulation
The large roll is what earned it its name blanket. It is usually cut and fitted in spaces between attic or wall studs. This product is usually made of recycled paper, rock wool, cellulose, or fiberglass. It has different R-values, and can be a very economical type of home insulation product. Nevertheless, we recommend you have a professional’s assistance with installation. Fiberglass can be hard to work with and can cause skin irritation and also other health problems if one isn’t properly prepared. Also, when batt insulation is not installed correctly, it can end up losing more than 50% of its efficiency because of gaps in coverage.
* Loose-fill/Blown-in insulation
Loose fill insulation is made of tiny particles such as rock wool, cellulose, recycled material or fiberglass. It is named for the technique of application, through blowing the material through a specialized tube. This insulation product is an excellent choice for numerous spaces in your home such as areas that are hard to reach, wall cavities, unfinished attics and small spaces. We have professional technicians that are all highly trained in this procedure, and can install new insulation products in just one day.
*Rigid board insulation
It is made of rock wool or fiberglass. It comes in large sheets that are cut to fit different areas of your home. This insulation product is a great choice for unfinished walls, new roofs, molding around air ducts/pipes and new construction projects. Call us today for more info on rigid board insulation.
*Spray foam insulation
Spray foam is the best type of home insulation on the market. It offers an excellent thermal and heat barrier. Spray foam has the highest R-values available. The product is made of two types of chemical material that are mixed, heated and sprayed through a hose. This totally bio-safe foam expands at once creating a seal that is airtight and has excellent insulation properties. This product can be used in existing walls as well as between joists and studs in your home.
Why Spray Foam Insulation?
We recommend spray foam insulation as the go-to method when it comes to making your home more energy-efficient and also comfortable. Although spray foam is usually more expensive when compared to other methods of home insulation, it tends to pay for itself in less than 3 years. This is because homeowners end up saving more than 40% on their monthly heating and cooling bills all through the year. Some other advantages of spray foam insulation are:
*Improvement in the quality of air
*A quiet home thanks to the airtight seal.
*Higher resale value.
*Less pests and rodents in the home.

Rutherford, New Jersey
Rutherford, 07070 is a borough in the county of Bergen, New Jersey. It is named after John Rutherfurd, a past US senator who owned land there once.
The Lenape people were among the first inhabitants of the area. This land was part of the New Barbados Township. Its ownership was transferred from person to person a lot during the 1700s to 1800s. However, it wasn’t until 1852 that the area reverted ownership to the county of Bergen. Much of the land was owned by J Rutherfurd at the time. Around the 1870s, the area began to be referred to as Rutherford. No one knows for sure why the last syllable was changed.
Many people in Rutherford enjoy a relaxing day at one of the town’s numerous parks. The parks were put in place as a way of preserving Rutherford’s often overlooked beauty.
The town holds an annual street fair occurring every 1st of May. It has been the longest running street fair so far in New Jersey. Some of the places served by our Rutherford location are East Rutherford 07073, Carlstadt 07072, Woodridge 07075, Moonachie 07074 and Wallington 07057.
