Most insulation companies in this region sell the job and then hand it to somebody else. We do not. Every installer who sets foot in your home is employed by The Home Insulators, and we have never subcontracted a job since we started in 2015.
It is the plainest thing about how we work and the hardest thing for a competitor to copy, so it is worth explaining properly.
What subcontracting actually looks like from your side
You meet a salesperson. You get a quote on company letterhead. Then on the day, a van you have never heard of pulls up and a crew you have never met does the work. They are paid per job by a company that is not the company you hired, and they will most likely never return to your street.
Nothing about that is illegal and plenty of firms run this way. But it puts distance between the promise and the work, and insulation is the wrong trade for that distance.
Why it matters more here than in most trades
Insulation is hidden work. Once the job is finished and the space is closed up, you cannot inspect it. You cannot see whether the foam reached the top plate where the wall meets the attic. You cannot see whether the rim joist was sealed before the batts went in, or whether someone insulated over a gap instead of closing it first.
You find out two winters later, when one room is still cold and the bill has not moved.
That is why the question of who actually holds the spray gun is not a detail. A crew that is coming back to the same towns next week, working for the company whose name is on the van, has a reason to do the part nobody will ever see.
What we run
More than 100 people across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Family-owned since 2015. Same training, same equipment, same standards on every job, whether it is a crawl space in Nanuet or a whole house in Bedford.
Having that many of our own installers is what makes it possible to say no to subcontracting in the first place. Most companies subcontract because they have sold more work than they can staff. We built the crew instead.

The honest caveat
It does mean we cannot be everywhere at once. Our schedule is limited by how many crews we actually employ, not by how many we can hire in for a week. In a hard winter that can mean waiting a few days longer than a company that subcontracts. We think that is the right trade and we would rather tell you than pretend otherwise.
