Insulation
Many homes in Fort Lee can benefit significantly from a free energy audit to address the problem of poor insulation. Poor insulation may be the reason behind your high energy bills. Close to 50% of your energy expenditures may be going to air-conditioning or heating due to the spaces in your current insulation. One way of lowering your monthly energy bills is through installing upgraded home insulation products. Improving energy efficiency is one of the most economical methods of decreasing your utility costs and it’s easy too.
R-values are units used to indicate how effective home insulation products are. R-values indicate an insulation material’s ability to resist the loss or transfer of heat. Homes in Fort Lee can benefit from using home insulation products with high R-values all through the 4 seasons. The laws of thermodynamics explain how poor insulation affects the home: heat tends to move towards the colder rooms in your home like your basement or attic and then finally moves outside. During summer, heat moves into the home to your much cooler air-conditioned rooms. Installing new insulation in your home creates a tight barrier against heat transfer, thus making sure the home is more comfortable and energy-conserving too.
Types of Insulation
We offer numerous quality home insulation products and can work within any customer’s budget. We know it can be quite confusing to understand all the different home insulation options, so we’ll work with you and help you determine the best product for your home and budget too.
Once you book an appointment with us, we’ll send over a professional auditor to visit your home and carry out a blower test. This test will show what areas of your home are leaking energy, and how much. Based on the outcome, our auditor will advise you on any of the following home insulation products to raise energy efficiency in your home, at no-obligation.
*Batts and rolls insulation is made of rock wool, recycled paper, fiberglass, or cellulose. It comes in many R-values, and can be very cost effective. Nevertheless, we advise you to ask a professional to help you with installing insulation batts. Fiberglass can cause skin irritation and can be difficult to work with.
Also, when not installed correctly, batt insulation can lose over 50% of its effectiveness because of the gaps in coverage.
* Loose-fill/Blown-in insulation is made of tiny particles of recycled material, cellulose, fiberglass, rock wool. Blown-in insulation is applied using a specialized hose. This product is great for many spaces in your home, like existing wall cavities, tiny spaces, unfinished attics, etc. Our professional staff is fully trained in the process, and can be in and out of your home in a day.
*Rigid board insulation is made up of fiberglass or rock wool, and comes in large, sturdy sheets hand cut to fit several spaces in your home. This insulation product is a great choice for new construction projects as well as unfinished walls or new roofs, and is also suitable for molding around air ducts or pipes. If you’re thinking about a home remodel/addition, give us a call today and we’ll give you a quote on this product.
*Spray foam insulation is the best type of home insulation available. We are happy to provide our Fort Lee residents this high quality product that offers an unsurpassed barrier against the transfer of heat. Spray foam products usually have the highest R-values. Spray foam is made of two chemical materials mixed, heated and then sprayed through a special tube. This foam is totally bio-safe and will expand immediately to create an airtight seal that has great insulation properties. It is suitable for use between studs and joists around the home, and can be used in existing walls as well.
Why Spray Foam Insulation?
Spray foam has the highest R-value on the market. This method of home insulation ensures your home is more comfortable and that you make better use of energy. Although this type of insulation product is more expensive compared to other types of insulation products, it usually pays for itself in three years or less. This is because homeowners can save more than 40% on all their monthly utility bills all through the year. Other benefits of this insulation product are:
*An improvement in air quality. There is cleaner air in the home thanks to the tight barrier.
*A quieter home, with less disturbances from outside.
*Higher resale value of the home.
*Less number of rodents and pests.
*Less allergens in the home.

Fort Lee
Fort Lee 07024, is a borough at the Eastern border of the county of Bergen. It is the western terminus of the George Washington Bridge. Fort Lee is located across the Hudson from the Manhattan borough. This area was a site used during the start of the American Revolution. It later became the birth place of the film industry in America.
Fort Lee is named for General Charles Lee. It was here that George Washington and his troops camped overlooking one of the most important landmarks during the war, Burdett’s Landing. It was also during this time that Thomas Paine composed some of his most famous lines “These are the times that try men’s souls”. These events are immortalized at the Fort Lee Historic Park and Monument Park.
